VHX6: What does "VHX is not installed" mean?

Last Updated September 6, 2018

To make things easier, VirtualHostX tries to detect if your Apache web server settings are setup to allow virtual hosts. If VirtualHostX displays a message saying "VHX is not installed", that means it did not find the right settings in place. You can usually correct this problem by following these steps.

  1. Make sure you've selected the appropriate web server as your "Default Web Server" in VirtualHostX's Preferences.
  2. Run the VirtualHostX Setup Wizard if you haven't already. It's under the "VirtualHostX" menu.
  3. Finally, click "Apply Changes" one more time.

The message should then go away.
